Today I have moved the horses in the top part of the field. I left that part of the field to last before I put them in. There is a lot of grass just waiting to be eaten.
I had my dad help me with the fencing and removing pieces of the dreaded ragwort! It's dying and some parts of it is black. You really do need to carefully check all over your paddocks for any ragwort that as been missed!
Rosie, stood watching me and dad work hard and was letting us know she wanted to get into the long grass. I knew it was going to be tiring work, but worth it. They loved it once they were in there. They didn't stop for breathe.
Rosie, was the first one to relax with a full stomach! Pip and Ollie, just carried on eating and left her standing.
You can see how much grass there is. I am so pleased that I fenced this part of the field off and saved it for now. This is just what they needed.
It didn't take long for, Rosie, to start eating again. It gives me such a warm loving feeling inside to see them all so happy and contented.
I can see the massive change in her and so thankful. It is now a year now since, Milly, was let out of the stable after months of treatment to get well. It is the best feeling in the world and watching her today made me feel very proud of her.
So a full days work all in all. Found Ragwort, not much but enough to do harm to the horses. Put up lots of electric fencing and poop picked! Tonight my hands, arms and back are aching but none of that matters. The horses stomachs are full and they are a very happy herd and that makes me very happy.
